Photo examples available to users in app

To add onto this, it would be nice to have photos available both as a description and as an option for single-choice/multiple-choice fields. We are observing plants, so instead of listing "green with dark green veins", it would be helpful to either show "does the plant look like [photo]" [Y/N field] or do a "select what the plant looks like" [photo 1] [photo 2] etc.

This would be a great feature to include for several reasons. Firstly as Siobhan mentions the ability to include an example photo or diagram to describe how you would like data to be captured would be really helpful (e.g. an example of what the photopoint for that site should look like so that photos are consistently captured through time). Secondly, while english is the common language of our network, not all data collectors have strong english literacy skills - therefore photos/icons within an app would make Fulcrum much more user friendly and in-turn improve our data quality. This would need to be an offline feature to be useful for our network.

This would be really helpful for our apps. having a picture or diagram available in the field description will enable the user to understand what is required. And having an offline version works for us as we are always offline.

Hi Jorge, could you tell us a little more about your process and use case? Would you like images attached to an individual field across an app, images attached to a single record, or a single image for many records such as using an image as your map view? Any further context you can provide we appreciate.
Regards

Dale Wilson: Sure, Periodically I need to do inspections of heavy machinery, so I have created different sections and in each section it would be good for me to be able to attach an image to have it as a reference each time I perform an inspection.

I just created a post requesting this.

Description Field Images

Use Case #1
Allowing images into the description field will allow for data collectors to collect accurate data. Companies dread the day they must train a new employee. The resources required to train someone are costly. Not to mention the inevitable mistakes that a new employee will make.
By allowing images in the description field, companies will be able to more quickly deploy data collectors to collect data that can be technical to a new employee. If the data collector does not know what a certain item looks like, or what to look for, but must take a picture, they can just reference the description field to see how how/what they should take a picture of. That way a data collector can be given Fulcrum and take off! Collecting clean, accurate, reliable data faster!
Use Case #2
When filling out a form with a client/customer is involved will allow for easier selling/educating of technical things. It would be nice to click on the description field to show the customer/client what we are referring to.
Possible Solutions:
1. Allow for images to be inserted into the description field.
2. HTML capable – hosting of images can be done outside of Fulcrum

It would appear that this is a duplicate request - https://fulcrum.canny.io/feature-requests/p/photo-examples-available-to-users-in-app
