Allow bulk downloading of media files onto devices
Steve Wealands
When working in the field offline, it is unreasonable to expect users to go through and manually download the media associated with each record.
Having an option to 'also sync/download media up to X days old' might be one way of offering this.
Alternatively, allowing the media files to be manually transferred to the device into a known folder structure!
The use case I've encountered is where we have a historic 'Photo point monitoring' App in which users want to review previous photos while in the field.

We are in the same situation. We regularly need to reference photo monitoring points, often in areas of no mobile service. Its very clunky to have to go in and download each records associated photos (often 20+ photos) each day.
A "Keep on Device" option for an app along with an option for how long to keep on device would be greatly appreciated.

This would be so, so useful!
It is a massive pain to try and download every record's photo individually. Would make remote monitoring projects so much easier!

Is there a technical reason this option cannot be offered? It continues to limit our users, particularly when they operate within a team where one user collects photos, but the others cannot easily see those after 'sync'.

Additionally, it would be great if a user could select an app and hit 'sync all media' for a given app. Our company has had a lot of trouble with this when technicians go out into the field and don't have service to download media files. Our use case is similar to yours, technicians out in the field that are new to the site needing to reference previously recorded material (media, etc.).

Ya, this would be welcomed.
