I agree this would be great, I'd love to see choice lists as an option in the export tool

Yes, this would be a very valuable feature. When making changes to long choice lists, we need to keep back ups of what is imported in order to make minor changes later. Would be much better to export the choice list, make the changes and re-import

I need this capability as well. This would also help eliminate duplicate values that create errors, especially on large lists/sets like we use.
